Bordeaux and La Rochelle are two exceptional cities to stay in while exploring the Atlantic Coast and nearby inland townships. Bordeaux which is on the Garonne River, has a long history as a trading centre in particular for wine. Outside the impressive city centre there are kilometres of vineyards and the countryside is dotted with picturesque villages. Further up the Atlantic coast is the martime city of La Rochelle, where you can still stroll by the charming half-timbered houses and discover the white sands of Ile de Ré.
Highlights of the trip include a visit to a small Cognac producer, a writer's chateau, a boat trip on the bay and sampling canelé and other delicacies.
Accommodation, transport, costs related to excursions, all breakfasts and selected meals are included in the tour price.
